in contemplation .. sent on September 07, 2012 (10:20) by Herman. 20 comments, 2190 views. [retina]

at 22mm, 1/250 f/8.0, ISO 200, hand held. Arches National Park, United States.

#NaturalArches

Fantastic. Color and clarity to the top. The human element and 'the gem that enhances this exciting place. From giant poster. :-)

Amazing place! When I was there I was such a mess ... that it was impossible to take a picture! But in the end .... I made it! :-D
Anyway nice shot from a good position! Perhaps the sun was still high! But nice nice nice!

Hello David, I assure you that on that day the people are not missing! :-D
the rest I think it's inevitable in a place so beautiful .. :-D
say that we must patiently wait for the "moments of calm."
In fact, the sunset was still an hour and a half but the light was such that, in the meantime, I've taken a lot of photos! :-)
Thank you,
Ermanno

Hello Navitimer .. maybe it depends on the time at which you found there, otherwise I'm sure you would have done the same! ;-)
However, it takes a bit of luck .. in this case there was a group of guys positioned on the side of the arc less photographed and one of them began to turn around the same and then it is put to contemplate it in this position where, among others, seems much smaller compared to reality! But above all, luck was at that time no from among the many people who thronged the place, has seen fit to pose under the arch! :-D

A location irresistible charm.
Great shot Herman! I like it very much! I found when I went I had a very bad light! To you it was much better!
Congratulations!

Thanks Diego, Francis and David!
In fact, the little man is the icing on the cake :-) also because, as I wrote above, that position makes it seem much larger arc than it actually is!
x Diego-v-73: Diego hello .. is, in fact, the light was beautiful, the only slight problem was the wind very strong even if hot! ;-) Anyway Arches NP remains for me one of the most beautiful and full of "potential" among the many beautiful places (as you know) that can be seen in the Southwest! :-)

Spectacular photos. The size of the subject makes it even more justice to the beautiful place.
