A nice person instead of a nice perch.
A background that created a nice contrast to the moth highlighting more.

Beautiful colors and also the compo, the background I would say it's too unnatural. You can not look from a naturalistic point of view, no butterfly in our continent rests on mushrooms.

with the opinion, during the second half I thought too that it is unnatural above a fungus, but since the macro shots are all built specifically I wanted to try and the result (personally) I do not mind, however, pass through and clarification :-)

I'm glad you caught what I meant, purely constructive criticism. The statement "the macro shots are all built ad hoc" But I do not understand, why do you say that? Personally my macros are all made in nature without any artifice, or constructed in September The difficult and beautiful to do macro is precisely to capture the naturalness of the subject. At least for me.

experimentation feeds their creativity, and I would say that in this case the result is not bad .... great the dettaglio..cosi such as compo ...
Bravo!

@Francesco: I took constructive criticism, that's right :)
I say that the Macro are constructed shots, due to the fact that the subject is positioned on the perch as you see fit, isolated from the background and put up with the light in the right direction, with 2 tripods, micrometric slide and Plamp, obviously with the utmost respect and attention micro copy which we have the honor to portray :) and when it opens its wings, directs toward the light and soon flies via..è a thrill this too :)

the creativity of the composition I really like, the background azzeccassimo, the details nothing to say ... good Riccardo, full of personality pictures ...

Interesting discussion here about the essence of the natural macro photography. I think you cannot take a good macro shots without doing some tricks that let you extract the 'model' from the environment. To do so, you often need to cut the plant or move the 'model' from deep grass to some other plant that looks just better, etc. So i dont believe that clear macro photos are possible without some intervention to the natural environment. Thats the truth.
