nei primi mesi di quest'anno 2017 la comunità internazionale ha diramato l'informazione, assunta specialmente attraverso le foto effettuate dai satelliti in orbita terrestre, che nel sito archeologico siriano, da molti mesi in mano ad estremisti che conducono guerra nel paese, abbiano distrutto in gran parte le antiche rovine, già peraltro patrimonio dell'umanità.
