Mi ha incuriosito perchè non mi è chiaro questo rituale. Non sono sicuro che si tratti di un corteggiamento, magari una semplice esercitazione di caccia per il giovane.
Credo che sia un ciuffo d'erba e non di una "preda" o dei sui resti, ma è difficile dirlo con certezza perchè le foto non sono abbastanza nitide.

Fine Settembre d'anni fà, quando la digitale ancor non esisteva, mi è capitato un fatto come il tuo. Ero da solo in vetta, stavo ammirando le poco lontane Dolomiti di Brenta, quando ad un tratto mi accorgo che due aquile vengono verso di me. In velocità mi metto a terra, altro non potevo fare (le aquile mi avevano visto). Destino vuole che inizino a volteggiare sopra di me a non più di 50 metri, una di loro lascia cadere nel vuoto assoluto una presunta preda (in questo caso una zolla di terra, con radici e ciuffi d'erba). Aspettava qualche secondo prima di chiudere le ali e lanciarsi in picchiata. Quando artigliava la zolla, sentivo lo schiaffo di presa con relativa esplosione di polvere. Poi sfruttando la corrente ascensionale, riprendeva quota per ripetere il tutto. Ha continuato così per almeno 5-6 volte. All'ultimo lancio la zolla, non inseguita più, è finita a pochi metri da me dentro un vaio e le aquile sono andate via. È stata un'esperienza indimenticabile che auguro di vivere a tutti.
