Should be reported shooting conditions, if you check.

Danilo

Hello Francis, and thanks for the ride and for the attention given to me. The exif data were already reported, the focal length used was 230 mm. The owl was taken to biopark of Rome in the early afternoon of May.

I think francesco Sestili was referring to the fact that the owl, probabilemte, was taken into captivity and in the wild (falconry etc..) Seems to show a slight shake with relative loss of sharpness. In any case it is a nice foreground.

Ha un'espressione un po' triste! Anche secondo me c'è del micromosso!
Un saluto
Ivan

His face is a bit 'sad! I also believe there is some shake!
Greetings
Ivan

Danilo

Hello Lucaben and Ivanmazzon and thanks to both of the passages and comments. Effettimanete 230mm to 1/100 of a second, in spite of the lens stabilization, perhaps are a bit 'Pochini. I could open up the aperture and the shutter speed gain something. Maybe next time.
A cordial greeting.
Danilo

www.juzaphoto.com/topic2.php?l=it&f=25&t=12967

ciaoe buona luce, lauro

Good point shot and composition.
I have a feeling that the point of the beak has fallen maf (maf advance), there is a perceptible shake, there is some high light.
I remind you that the reciprocal of the focal 1/345secondi that combined with the presence of a stabilizer of the second generation and allowed them to shoot handheld with shutter speeds up to four times longer than normally possible with lenses without optical stabilization VRwow! .
This is to say that the margins they had to counter the shake-especially if you used the correct shooting technique explained here:
www.juzaphoto.com/topic2.php?l=it&f=25&t=12967
A second alternative was to simply open the iris, however, knowing that you'd have to rely on a single point of f pointing sull'iridand left-continuous manner af 8-).

I remind you that if the subject was taken up in a controlled environment or during a falconry show, according to the regulations, you must indicate in the shooting data

Check each photo as you posted so far and upgrade ;-).
ciaoe good light, laurel

Sometimes the stabilizer of last generation does not make you feel like a barrel of iron.
Let us remember that in addition to moved the photographer can also include the movement of the subject, or gusts of wind that move the plumage. In any case, better to increase the shutter speed, for safety!

Danilo

ElleEmme Hello and thanks for the constructive criticism and suggestions that you have given me ;-). I started taking pictures a few months ago and I am eager to suggestions for improvement. I read with great interest the topic that I have indicated, in which you write some tips to combat blur. I have to say that some things already put in place for the other will try to follow the good advice. I put in my initial comment where I say that the shot was made at the biopark of Rome.
We will see in the next few shots that I will post how things go.
A cordial greeting.
