I cursori color crema vivono nel Nord-Africa fra Kenya e Marocco ed alle Canarie. Nidificano a terra, perciò, quando la coppia vede in pericolo la prole attiva una strategia diversiva: il maschio si "sacrifica" correndo,allo scoperto, lontano dal nido per distogliere l'attenzione del predatore. Con noi questa tattica non ha funzionato (eravamo fermi in auto,a debita distanza), allora la femmina ha attuato il piano B (che usa in tutti i casi nei quali sente minacciato il nido): gonfia le piume del petto per apparire più imponente all'aggressore ( normalmente è più snella!). Il colore delle piume,comunque, mimetizza bene i soggetti nell'ambiente circostante. Da notare come il pullo abbia un piumaggio non uniformemente color crema come gli adulti,che si adatta in maniera perfetta alla bassa vegetazione (in cui si nascondono) che cresce fra le rocce laviche.
