Serengeti N.P. Recenti studi genetici sembrano suggerire una stretta relazione tra ippopotami e cetacei, posizionandoli così nel nuovo ordine Whippomorpha. Enorme erbivoro anfibio, indissolubilmente legato alla vita nell'acqua. La pelle è nuda e cosparsa di ghiandole che secernono un liquido viscoso e rossastro a protezione dell'epidermide che è strettamente sottile e sensibile al sole e all'essiccamento. Nella Hippopool del Serengeti N.P. le minacce tra maschi di ippopotami non si fanno desiderare. Siamo rimasti almeno due ore incantati in un paradiso terrestre, il loro paradiso. Un luogo meraviglioso che ci ha regalato emozioni da ricordare.
