Il Rabbit fu prodotto dalla Fuji Heavy Industries nel dopoguerra. La produzione è iniziata nel 1946 circa 6 mesi prima di quella della Vespa. In gran parte ispirato agli scooter usati dai militari americani durante e dopo la seconda guerra mondiale. I rabbit Fuji furono tra i più evoluti della loro epoca e nelle varie versioni dotati di avviamento elettrico, trasmissione automatica e sospensioni pneumatiche. Con il crescere dell'economia Giapponese la domanda di scooter calò, e la Fuji diversificò la produzione a favore delle auto, e nel 1958 lanciò sul mercato la Subaru 360. L'ultimo Rabbit usci dalla linea di produzione nel giugno del 1968....
