I veri Giulietta e Romeo sono friulani! La peculiarità di questa villa, che si trova ad Ariis di Rivignano Teor, è di aver fatto da scenario al dramma da cui sembra che Shakespeare abbia trovato ispirazione: dopo recenti e scrupolose ricerche, il professore inglese Cecil Clough è arrivato infatti alla conclusione che i veri protagonisti della tragedia shakespeariana sono i friulani Lucina Savorgnan, che in questa villa era solita passare le vacanze estive, e suo cugino Luigi Da Porto. Lucina e Luigi appartenevano entrambi al casato dei Savorgnan, potenti signori di Udine. Proprio nel palazzo di famiglia dei Savorgnan a Udine, in occasione della festa di carnevale del 1511, i due giovani si incontrano e si innamorarono perdutamente, tanto da scambiarsi in gran segreto una promessa di matrimonio. Le rispettive famiglie, infatti, in lotta tra di loro, non avrebbero mai accettato una loro relazione. Il destino però non fu favorevole alla giovane coppia: alcuni mesi più tardi infatti Luigi viene gravemente ferito in battaglia e rimase paralizzato. Nel frattempo Lucina, per ragioni di opportunità politica e finanziaria, fu costretta a sposare Francesco Savorgnan. Luigi Da Porto, uomo d'armi ma anche di lettere, decise di raccontare il suo triste destino nella novella “Giulietta e Romeo”, modificando i nomi dei protagonisti e dei luoghi per mascherare l'origine autobiografica del suo testo. La novella subì vari rimaneggiamenti, fino alla versione definitiva di W.Shakespeare che tutti conosciamo.
