Nel piccolo porticciolo di Bardello il canneto del lago di Varese avanza e sembra voler riconquistare quello che una volta era un approdo sicuro per le barche da pesca. L'arrivo negli ultimi anni di specie di pesci alloctone nel lago di Varese in pochi anni ha fatto scomparire quasi completamente molti altri pesci, come le alborelle - una volta presenza costante - facendo si che anche i pescatori riescano a fare sempre meno catture sia sportive che commerciali.
