Posto un mio scatto del 2006 di due gocce d'acqua pubblicate sulla copertina della Rivista di Meteorologia Aeronautica Militare con la didascalia della Redazione:"Due gocce d'acqua, depositatesi su un ramoscello durante la pioggia caduta nella giornata precedente, hanno dato luogo a due strutture di ghiaccio trasparente a forma di pendaglio. L'iniziale conformazione liquida, di forma ellissoidale per effetto della gravità, si è mantenuta in equilibrio sul dorso del ramoscello fino a quando si è avviato il processo di solidificazione. Il successivo graduale aumento di volume, provocando lo scivolamento verso il basso dell'acqua ancora liquida, ha reso possibile la formazione della caratteristica forma a pendaglio. L'elevata trasparenza del ghiaccio denota l'assenza di aria all'interno della struttura cristallina. Ciò è dovuto ad una lenta dissipazione del calore da parte delle gocce nel corso delle notti invernali serene quando l'irraggiamento determina raffreddamento e saturazione dell'aria del sottobosco.
