#Wild Il Crocus biflorus o Zafferano selvatico,è una pianta erbacea perenne. Le foglie sono lunghe e sono originate da bulbo sotterraneo.Hanno una forma lineare e sottile,sono di colore verde con linea bianca centrale. La radice è del tipo fascicolato,cioè sono un fascio di radici di uguale dimensione che si generano tutte alla base del bulbo. Il fusto consiste in una parte sotterranea chiamata ipogea, e di una parte aerea chiamata epigea,dove viene portato il fiore. I fiori possono essere bianchi,bianchi venati di porpora o di blu,lilla. Il frutto è una capsula oblunga contenente numerosi semi. Il Crocus biflorus appartiene alla famiglia delle Iridaceae. Nel nostro paese è presente quasi su tutto il territorio.Vegeta nei querceti,negli incolti,nei prati.Viene comunemente coltivato come pianta da giardino.
