ciaoooo !!! il mio scatto ritrae un particolare della Giant's causeway ,nella contea di derry e antrim nell'irlanda del nord.è una spettacolare formazione rocciosa ( riserva naturale nazionale,nonchè unico sito dell'Irlanda del nord, dichiarato patrimonio dell' Unesco),composta da circa 40.000 colonne basaltiche ,formatesi in seguito ad una eruzione vulcanica circa 60 milioni di anni fa e sono perlopiu a base esagonale.
visitare questo sito è stato veramente emozionante!!!!! :-P

basalto, colonne esagonali..quindi una risalita di magma molto lenta che ha consentito al basalto di raffreddare lentamente e di assumere la sua forma naturale, che è appunto quella esagonale ;-)
