I believe that free hand could not do more but, unable (not sure if Pompei is allowed), I would have tried to shoot with a tripod so you can still close the iris (presumably using all'iperfocale) to earn depth of field to have, if possible, all at ... fire!

Credo che a mano libera non si potesse fare di più ma, potendo (non so se a Pompei è consentito), l'avrei provata a scattare con il treppiedi in modo da poter chiudere ancora il diaframma (magari ricorrendo all'iperfocale) per guadagnare profondità di campo per avere, se possibile, tutto a... fuoco!
Resta, comunque, un'immagine che mi... piace!
