La “Galaverna” è una corsa podistica amatoriale, che si svolge a Pianoro da 45 anni. Organizzata dall'Avis locale, si tratta di una camminata affrontabile in vari modi e lungo vari percorsi, con segmenti che vanno dai 3,5 fino ai 20 Km. È un evento di beneficienza, al quale possono partecipare persone di ogni età e che può essere affrontato secondo le proprie possibilità fisiche: di corsa puntando alla vittoria o camminando con la propria famiglia e il proprio cane e chiacchierando fra amici. Da qualche anno l'evento è dedicato alla memoria di Alice Gruppioni. Alice è morta nell'agosto del 2013, a Venice Beach, Los Angeles, mentre era in viaggio di nozze, travolta da un pirata della strada senzacasa che, folle, ha fatto irruzione nel lungomare pedonale con la propria auto, travolgendo tutto e tutti coloro che gli si paravano davanti. Una particolarità di questa edizione è stata la presenza di una rappresentanza giovanile dei Bologna Warriors, fra le più importanti società di Football Americano italiane: hanno fatto da apripista, correndo alla carica i primi 100, 150 m, poi sono usciti dal percorso, tranne il numero 47. Penso che mi abbia visto: ero l'unico fotografo in fondo al rettilineo, sullo spartitraffico di una rotonda. E' ritornato in centro strada e mi è corso incontro. Essendo l'unico a scattare in quella posizione, sono l'unico che può aver fatto questa foto. Spero gradiate la condivisione.
