Northern dream...

Inverno in appennino

Northern dream sent on January 22, 2017 (18:38) by Massimo Bonini. 20 comments, 885 views.

at 16mm, 3.2 sec f/13.0, ISO 200, tripod.

Not bad, :-P taken to a phenomenon that has long not seen, unfortunately the sky is what it is and the plants are not seen well because a little 'distant, left cut off, removing the branches that come from the left, starting from according fir, and a little 'below, but only for a total give more body to the trees and hoarfrost
Hello :-P

all the part below is for me too, the picture starts from the base of the pine trees, if there is snow on the trees there is also on the floor, you could tell him stesso.qui had to fire on everyone and try something more intimate in the woods .it is very flat as a picture, the horizontal line of trees, the line on the snow for horizontal ground, not give some depth to the image.
the composition results in unbalanced high for the presence of the trees, the snow below presents no major elements for rebalance.
Winter remains an honest image, to make the leap you had to get closer.

These of course are just my feelings.

Thanks to all for the actions; even I, as written in the caption, I had doubts whether or not to crop it in the bottom. I could not get close, I was already here in 16mm and if we went closer I had to tilt up and the trees distorgevano (and already a hair are). And 'the only plane present with a substantial group of fir trees from decent amount even if you do not notice much :-D

Hello Max, you've found an incredibly rigid situation close to home, that could really look like a Lappish landscape!
I agree with outspoken comments of my predecessors; I believe that here, not being able to bring over, needed a canvas to arrive at the base of the firs, snowy beautifully!
But the scenery is really nice and the picture still worth.

Hello, Alberto

I agree with others on the composition, the scene was very beautiful but not easy to interpret, it would also be interesting to get into those woods.

You've found an incredible situation, the composition is not flawless, you have spent a nice time for those who are looking for scenery and views to photograph the end is the desired result.

Thanks Alberto, Catherine and Fabrizio, I see that there is a plebiscite for the cut, I will. ;-)
Keep in mind that I was missing 24/70: - /: - / :-( :-( although after answering Simone Claudio and I thought I could also do some vertical and then join them together to make a horizontal with the closest subject but I am still not as crafty as think the place (among other things was getting dark and time another shot had pesto).
Catherine
would also be interesting to get into those woods
did not them, but to the left of where I photographed, flat and as much before time.

Hi Massimo!
The situation is the place are very beautiful, even by me so the first plane loses interest. Perhaps it was to be found a different composition, the Wide picture works at maximum and here there has enhanced the shot you do not always.
It remains a fascinating ambiance.

Luigi we also several shots but for now I proposed this, just to dispel the doubts that I had especially on the first floor, for others we will see.
Thanks for the ride, your contributions are always correct.

I like Massimo, despite the limitations that you have shown why it is a special situation that few times you are lucky to share.
Greetings

Hello Massimo, do not discuss the technical suggestions because I would not be quite able and therefore I trust those who left the comment. Anyway I do not feel sorry for me as I read. The sky and the snow cover have made common cause and try to crush you in their grip (with the clouds that are falling on the trees) but the trees with their fronds you tend a hand so that you can find shelter with them. Dangers and anxieties we constantly pester but if we look around we see that there are many friends ready to come to our rescue, maybe we should get used to being a bit 'more open towards them. To me, despite everything, like.

I like very much! Also I'd ever 16/9 cutout leaving the stones in the lower right, so 'to try ... a greeting :-) Ale

Thanks Alessandro, cutting into the final I opted to always leave a 3/2 cut on the left and below. I also tried a 16/9 but lately I do not like that much .....

Thank you Luca, I found this in 2017 (just before it was published), though only at high altitude, the beautiful snowfall that forced you into the plain / hillside house is becoming more and more rare (and above all it would be very precious, many think only of the discomfort, then complain when there is little water and must not water the garden ......................: - /)
