Gli esseri umani nel corso dei secoli son stati capaci di creare delle bellezze straordinarie, integrandole nella natura e anzi, dalla natura stessa son riusciti a trarne vantaggi in tanti campi. Ma c'è anche il rovescio della medaglia, quella stessa natura benevola in altri casi non ha avuto il rispetto che merita, ma è stata violentata, in tanti modi. Uno di questi modi è quello del fenomeno dell'abbandono dei rifiuti in tutti posti possibili e immaginabili. Il progetto che presento vuol essere una rappresentazione di questo fenomeno. Elemento ricorrente e simbolico di tutti gli scatti proposti è la maschera antigas, a simboleggiare il “doppio gioco” dell'uomo con la natura, ovvero l'uomo abbandona i rifiuti e inquina ma cerca anche di proteggersi dai danni che lui stesso crea in una sorta di circolo vizioso. In alcuni scatti è anche presente una figura che indossa la maschera del medico della peste, figura nata durante la pestilenza che colpì Venezia nel 1630 e che aveva il compito di proteggere chi la indossava dai miasmi della peste ed evitarne il contagio. Questa figura vuol simboleggiare l'abbandono dei rifiuti come una sorta di pestilenza da cui, nuovamente, l'uomo cerca di proteggersi. Le scene son state ritratte in alcuni ambiti in cui è possibile trovare, purtroppo, rifiuti abbandonati dall'uomo. Dalle campagne in cui si trovano buste contenenti ogni sorta di immondizia, ma anche pneumatici e pezzi d'auto, alle spiagge con rifiuti talvolta portati dalle correnti marine o talvolta abbandonati dai bagnanti. Le immagini sono state lavorate cercando di dare volutamente un aspetto sporco e rovinato.
