Pitigliano è un comune italiano della provincia di Grosseto in Toscana. Il caratteristico centro storico è noto come la "piccola Gerusalemme", per la storica presenza di una comunità ebraica, da sempre ben integrata nel contesto sociale che qui aveva la propria sinagoga. Si notano le caratteristiche case che sporgono da un grande sperone di tufo, assolutamente a strapiombo. La rupe di Pitigliano è circondata su tre lati da altrettanti burroni, pieni di grotte scavate nel tufo; nel fondovalle scorrono i corsi d'acqua Lente, Meleta e Prochio.
