A pool frog (Pelophylax lessonae) photographed in a small forest pond in southern Germany. Pool frogs are getting rare in Germany - as a result of interbreeding with marsh frogs (P. ridibundus) and habitat destruction. Therefore I was particularly glad to find a quite numerous population of them. Last Saturday was a special shooting day dedicated to this amphibian species: I spent many hours with frogs in the pond.
