Oltre alla giornata dell'unità nazionale, per l'annessione di Trento e Trieste al Regno d'Italia e la giornata delle forze armate, è dedicata alle onoranze funebri - in Italia e in Europa - per commemorare tutti i soldati morti in guerra.
