con Canon EF 1.4x III, 1/800 f/7.1, ISO 2000, hand held.

Nell'ultima fotografia di questa serie, aggiungo qualche nota del viaggio. Sono partito dall'Italia e mi sono unito, a Fairbanks (Alaska) alla guida che ci ha portato al Polo Nord. Abbiamo pernottato in un hangar "attrezzato" ed ogni giorno siamo stati circa 8/9 ore a bodo di una piccola barca, alla ricerca degli orsi. Il movimento dell'imbarcazione mi ha impedito di scendere sotto 1/1000 di secondo in quasi tutte le fotografie (ho notato un microcomosso la prima sera ed ho modificato il setting della macchina). Temperatura abbondantemente sotto lo zero e venti che hanno soffiato oltre i 90 chilometri orari. L'esperienza è stata fantastica e ci ha consentito di vivere a contatto con questo enorme predatore in una terra dove il turismo è quasi totalmente assente. Gli eschimesi, 225, che abitano questa remota terra, hanno il permesso di uccidere tre balene all'anno, per sfamare gli orsi che, altrimenti, non permetterebbero loro di abitare le proprie case, considerandoli, ovviamente prede.
