L'abete rosso (picea excelsa) viene impiegato per la costruzione di strumenti musicali, il cosidetto "Albero di Risonanza".Si tratta di monumenti della foresta la cui età varia dai 200 ai 250 anni, muti testimoni della storia sopravvissuti alle devastazioni della prima Guerra Mondiale che qui, in questi luoghi, ha lasciato tracce importanti. Gli alberi della musica sono molto rari e costituiscono una percentuale bassissima rispetto alle altre essenze legnose presenti nei boschi.La caratteristica principale che rende l'abete rosso così adatto per la produzione di strumenti musicali è l'elasticità, è proprio la sua capacità a piegarsi che determina la vibrazione, che è alla base del fenomeno della risonanza.
