Foce Colonia (1589) (detto comunemente S. Anna) dove, da oltre 400 anni, viene venerata l'immagine della Madonna non soltanto dagli abitanti di Monti di Villa ma anche dagli altri rappresentanti del territorio. L'erezione di questa chiesa è narrata da padre Cesare Franciotti nelle “Vite dei Santi Lucchesi” stampate nel 1613. Quando nel 1564 le due comunità di Lugnano e Bugnano fecero il voto di grazia sopra ricordato, ed una volta ottenutola, fabbricarono a Foce Colonia una cappelletta e di lì a qualche anno fu dipinta gratuitamente dal pittore di Lammari, mastro Sebastiano l'immagine di Maria Santissima, somigliante a quella della Madonna dei Miracoli di Lucca. In pochi anni la cappella conobbe visite e pellegrinaggi da tutte le parrocchie e molte furono le grazie ricevute. Si decise quindi di costruirvi la chiesa, terminata nel 1609. Il loggiato davanti alla chiesa fu costruito nell'anno 1674. La celebrità dei prodigi di questa immagine e la posizione della sua chiesa, rivolta verso il mare, trasse a sé anche la devozione dei marinai e naviganti che invocavano l'aiuto di questa Vergine nei loro pericoli e per molto tempo, fino alla metà del 1800, dal porto di Livorno si spedivano annui doni a questa Stella Maris, invocata sotto il titolo di Madonna del Monte Coronato. C'era un cappellano, eletto dalla comunità di Monti di Villa con l'approvazione del Vescovo, che vi celebrava messa ogni giorno e anche l'eremita, che doveva essere custode della chiesa in mancanza del cappellano. Qui verso la fine di Luglio viene celebrata la Festa di S.anna con messa e Tortellata .)"
