l'aquila coronata è stata la"regina"del viaggio.un sogno da tempo inseguito e finalmente realizzato.è il vero "top gun" dei rapaci africani,capace di cacciare nel fitto bosco come un astore ed in grado di abbattere uccelli in volo,scimmie o antilopi. questo è l'esemplare del primo indimenticabile incontro ad Ndumo.mentre io ero impegnato a fotografarla all'improvviso ha visto qualcosa ed ha abbozzato una partenza.poi ci ha ripensato,non sarebbe stato educato andarsene senza salutare....ndumo n.p.,KZN,sudafrica PS sul mio blog la "storia"di questo primo ,indimenticabile ,incontro

quanto agli artigli...le aquile coronate attaccano anche le persone ma solo se cercano di salire sull'albero del nido.
gli studiosi infatti evitano di salire quando ci sono i piccoli guardati a vista.
quando sono + grandi invece salgono approfittando dei momenti in cui gli adulti sono lontani ma usano un giubbetto di nylon balistico e l'elmetto perchè se arrivano gli adulti una pugnalata alla schiena è inevitabileEeeek!!!
io sono in contatto con un ricercatore di durban il quale usa un sistema per distrarre gli adulti.ha il richiamo dei pulli del gufo gigante di verraux.questo gufo è un diretto competitore dell'aquila coronata e quando i pulli sono piccoli può prenderli nel nido.le aquile adulte scacciano i gufi adulti appena li scoprono e cercano di ucciderne i piccoli.
quindi i ricercatori distraggono gli adulti col richiamo dei gufetti e salgono su.
ovvio che la cosa funziona solo quando ci sono i gufi piccoli(novembre/gennaio in sudafrica).lo stesso sistema fuori stagione non crea alcun interesse nelle aquile.non sono fesseMrGreen
