Brazilian tapir sent on September 18, 2016 (15:06) by Francesco_lear. 7 comments, 1509 views. [retina]

, 1/800 f/5.0, ISO 2000, hand held. Pantanal, Mato Grosso, Brazil. Specie: Tapirus terrestris

Lunghezza focale 215 mm effettivi. Agosto 2016, Pantanal, Pouso Alegre

Small note: Despite the tapir may seem relative of a pig, is actually related to horses and rhinos: can be seen from '' mane '' and hooves like those of a horse and the small trunk, which I personally It reminds me, as well as the trunk of an elephant, also prehensile lips of a black rhino.

very beautiful like the whole series, I must inform you on the Pantanal ... I'm not a fan of Brazil but here it seems to me that it is worth.

Thanks Soloinpiano, it should very much the Pantanal, is the place with the highest concentration of wildlife in South America (some say even the Americas). Then if you want to see at least once in their life jaguars, this is, for the moment, the only place where you can see them with relative ease without having to light a candle before leaving :-D
