Hepworth: Single Form; Battersea Park sent on September 16, 2016 (4:00) by Timk2. 6 comments, 1574 views. [retina]

at 220mm, 1/125 f/8.0, ISO 250, hand held. London, United Kingdom.

Two smaller copies of Barbara Hepworth's largest work, the 1964 bronze commission for the United Nations Building were made, one is in Washington DC, the other in south west London's Battersea Park. I chanced on it on a walk back in June whilst walking the "Thames Path". I so liked the tree behind that I wanted to make that trunk as part of the artwork itself. I completely forgot about it until now and have since spent an hour trying to get a balance that makes a chunk of grey bronze into something more, something special. Perhaps I have succeeded? It has the lightest of sepia tinge to it. #BlackAndWhite

I like the way the sculpture fits neatly under the tree, as well as the textures on the sculpture itself.

It really seems to be back to the Bronze Age. Nice shot, the sepia is almost imperceptible, but it makes more friendly picture. Hello and this continues, please. :-P
