La Battaille de Reines, una storica manifestazione che si tiene nelle Valli più importanti della Valle d'Aosta, in Francia ed in Svizzera da oltre cinquantanni . Consiste nello sfruttare l'animo naturalmente combattivo di alcune razze alpine come la valdostana pezzata nera o la castana , che cercano di imporsi durante la vita in branco. Le vacche gravide, si sfidano due alla volta, cercando la supremazia , spingendosi e sfiancandosi fino a quando una non abbandona . Solitamente c'è una fase di studio poi corna contro corna inizia la vera e propria battaglia di questi autentici colossi, le categorie vanno dai 450 Kg in su. Difficilmente ci sono danni o ferimenti, a volte qualcuna si rifiuta di combattere e lascia il proprietario un po' sconsolato, il quale spera di arrivare dopo le selezioni alla finale di Aosta in ottobre .
