Anche se negli exif è indicato ISO 3200, questa foto in realtà è a 6400 ISO equivalenti (3200 @ -1.0). E' una vecchia foto che inizialmente avevo scartato per il troppo rumore, e che ho recuperato ora grazie alle migliorate tecniche di Riduzione del Rumore !

Ovviamente un pò di rumore c'è comunque, ma per essere un crop al 100% mi sembra buono!
Although in the exif is indicated ISO 3200, this photo is actually equivalent to ISO 6400 (3200@-1.0). It 's an old photo that I had initially rejected for too much noise, and I've recovered now thanks to improved techniques of Noise Reduction !

è decisamente più che accettabile.
Ho usato la DS MKIII per lungo tempo e non sono mai riuscito ad ottenere
risultati del genere a tali ISO.

Per le mie esigenze preferisco la 7D, anche se è leggermente inferiore come qualità d'immagine (la risoluzione è simile ma è 1 stop più rumorosa). Nel complesso però mi trovo meglio, sopratutto adesso che uso il 300 2.8 invece che il 600 :-)

For my needs I prefer the 7D, although it is slightly lower as image quality (the resolution is similar but is 1 stop noisier). Overall, however, I feel better, especially now that I use the 300 2.8 instead of the 600 :-)

Le uso entrambe, sia quella "vecchia" (cioè la sola riduzione rumore di PS) che la nuova (la riduzione rumore di ACR, più efficace).
In pratica:
1) applico su tutta la foto la RR di Camera RAW, che toglie completamente il rumore cromatico e diminuisce un pò quello di luminosità (non lo toglie tutto, ma comunque meglio di PS)
2) per le foto oltre i 1600 ISO, applico anche la RR di Photoshop, utilizzando valori molto forti ma solo sullo sfondo, tramite layer mask.

Anche secondo me questa è molto meglio rispetto all'altro scatto per quanto riguarda la riduzione del rumore.

Fino ad ora con la 7D non avevo praticamente mai tenuto foto a 3200 o oltre... la prossima volta che ne avrò occasione mi spingerò anche a queste sensibilità e pubblicherò i risultati!
Direi che con la RR di ACR si guadagna un bello stop di utilizzabilità

eh eh :-D certo che no, ovviamente tanto migliore è la foto di partenza tanto migliore sarà il risultato...se con la 7D e le migliori tecniche di elaborazione il limite è 3200, o 6400 in certi casi, con le reflex migliori (D3s, D4 e 1DX) penso si possa arrivare bene a 51200 ISO... e in certi casi estremi anche ai 102400, ovviamente facendo qualche compromesso.
