La Macchina di Santa Rosa è un baldacchino trionfale illuminato da fiaccole. E' alta circa trenta metri, pesante cinquantuno quintali, e porta in cima la statua di Santa Rosa patrona della città. La sera del 3 Settembre viene portata a spalla da un centinaio di facchini su un percorso lungo poco più di un chilometro attraverso salite, discese e strette vie sfiorando per pochi centimetri cornicioni di palazzi e vetrine. Il trasporto della Macchina di Santa Rosa è PATRIMONIO IMMATERIALE dell'UNESCO
