Owl sent on September 06, 2016 (22:56) by Matteo Leonardi. 16 comments, 666 views.

at 300mm, 1/4 f/5.6, ISO 5000, tripod. Specie: Athene noctua

Civetta, ore 5:55 del mattino, era buio ed ho dovuto alzare gli ISO per avere un buon risultato compromettendo la qualità. Sono comunque contento, è un animale stupendo.

Nice catch and good use of the equipment with the shutter to limite..al of the quality conditions, perhaps the fire nn just falls on the head of the subject, or is there a bit of camera shake, 1/4 is also with us the VR.
Greetings.

I agree with Mirco Z, however, a large beautiful meeting that is worth all the shot, congratulations

Many thanks to all of you! @Mirco Z surely the fire is not perfect, partly because I tried just focus in the dark at 4:30 with a flashlight before I position myself :-P well as other shots with 2/2 times :-D
@Carlobay We only have the built-in flash so that I saw you run away afraid that illuminates inside Capannino Mobile. however since it is a stable visit, I might try :-D

A greeting

Anyway, a good result despite highs iso and then, and one who says you love the owls, you're right, they have a charm all over them, like the charm of waiting between a small peep to the other and then, suddenly , When they realized that you're not a danger, ualà, a leap and you see them on the cutlery that it is a stone, a palette, a branch, or who knows what else.
A greeting
Antonio

I could not help myself from talking about the owl experience when I read about one like you not just about the photo but also the species.
I read on the other photo that expresses your admiration for the beauty of the cave
Bravo ;-)

I would avoid flash, flatten too much in my opinion, and then if the owl is quiet just wait for the Sun to rise.
Rather, since you use the tripod to close the af / 8 diaphragm, you will definitely gain sharpness.

Thank you!! The closure at f8 would have been better certainly! I found difficulties in these first shots, the other two I posted were in other light conditions but the problem stayed with the long times, the quill enough was moving! A greeting
