at 30mm, 1/500 f/5.6, ISO 100, hand held. Corfe Castle, United Kingdom.

I've tried something different for this and would really value your honest opinion (but maybe not brutally honest!)

Definitely nestled, you have to look for its stark outline, but what I like most is that the desaturated look is of a moonlit shot, which is what I thought it was until I looked at the data. If this was taken yesterday, then you weren't a million miles from where I was! I also replied to your comment on my latest.

Lovely comment, Jean - thanks very much!

Not too far from where you were, Tim, and I even had a very distant view of the chain ferry from the hilltop next to Corfe Castle! This was taken at 18.42 yesterday evening in the brightest of bright sunlight, so very difficult to manage! Seeing it on my iPad, Corfe Castle is even more camouflaged that it was when I was editing it! Meeting friends for a walk in the New Forest shortly - maybe I'll get some heather shots but, as you say, it's not that easy to capture its full splendour.....

Lenses (I'm selling two old Nikons) just picked up by the Courier so will have some money to get out and about by end of the week. Shooting heather in New Forest is easier than on the rolling dunes of Sandbanks as you need counterpoints and focal points on which to hang a display of colours around. Much needed day of rest today - I walked about 6 or 7 miles into and around Southampton on Holiday Monday from a railway station (on purpose) to follow the river Test into the city, but with a lighter load though, admittedly! It's always feet and ankles that get very achy! Enjoy your walk.

Thanks, Tim! Walk was great - photo opportunities less so! I've clocked up 8.8 km today....

That's a lovely description, Gionskj! Thank you very much!

I so agree! I was the only one up there - bliss! It felt as if I had the whole world to myself!
