In memoria al Col. Francesco Rossi. Militare di carriera, 43° Comandante del Reggimento "Piemonte Reale Cavalleria", durante la ritirata seguita alla battaglia di Caporetto ebbe l'ordine di proteggere il ripiegamento del XIII Corpo d'Armata, al quale il suo Reggimento apparteneva. Assunto il comando della retroguardia del Corpo d'armata, si prodigò con i suoi uomini per ritardare l'avanzata del nemico, battendosi sino alla morte. Per questo fu insignito il 16 agosto 1918 della medaglia d'oro al valor militare alla memoria[1]. La salma, traslata nel 1924 a Paganica, fu tumulata definitivamente il 18 giugno del 1939 nella roccia presso il Santuario della Madonna d'Appari, vicino L'Aquila. Gli sono state dedicate caserme a L'Aquila (ospita attualmente il 9? Reggimento Alpini) ed a Merano.

Not sure if it's the building, or, more likely, barrel distortion from the 14mm lens, but I would have corrected the bowing out wall on the right. But nice image, a little too 'HDR' looking for my ultimate liking but good composition.
