Wonderful, very nice shot! Wow!
105 mm? Is it a trap?

Thanks Maurizio. This one was a trap. Sometimes I stay and use a wireless shutter release from a safe distance as with this one www.juzaphoto.com/index2.php?l=en&pg=profile2&mode=viewgallerie&iduten
I would always prefer to be present and take the photo myself whenever possible, but these Pine Martens have proven to be very wary and elusive. The photo trap has made it easier to get the photo and has now accustomed the marten to the sound of the shutter and flash. I hope to remain next time and press the shutter myself.
Although I must admit, using the photo trap is great fun.

Congrats Padraig, marten great shot!

Did you study its path to get the right location or do you use for bait?

Thanks Ccoc. Used bait: chicken leg.

Padraig, another cracker. Can you add another flash to bring up the BG? Which trap are you using, want one myself for these critters!? MrGreen

Thanks Neil. Using The Photo Trap Model 33
I dont have a third flash that doesn't go into save energy mode. Any advice on a cheap third party manual flash that wont switch off?

I have 3 flashes, 580 II, 430, 420... the 430 is the only one that has the option to not powersave, the 580 II (which really annoys me) cannot do it and always stops at 30mins. The 420 was just a mistake.

My 580 ex 2 doesn't power off. Just change it in the custom menu. Auto power off disable

I tried that, but it only wakes up after the first shot is fired?

That is strange. I definitely don't have that problem. Maybe you should get it checked out.
