Territorio con vista sul canale d'Otranto! Primo mattino. La torre di S. Emiliano si intravede sullo sfondo e l'asprezza del territorio tutt'intorno! Un proverbio/slogan dice Salentu, lu, sole lu mare, lu vientu!... quest'anno più degli altri anni andrebbe aggiunto il fuoco ... . fuoco che ha reso spettrali alcune aree altrimenti ricche di piante belle, spesso odorose quanto resistenti!
