Njivice un tempo era un piccolo villaggio di pescatori, ma oggi è diventato un paese turistico conosciuto e apprezzato per la sua organizzazione, le bellissime spiagge e gli ottimi ristoranti. Njivice è una delle destinazioni preferite dai giovani, ha buoni hotel e un campeggio molto frequentato. Il paese è molto antico e ci sono diversi siti archeologici meta di visite guidate, ed escursioni. Njivice come la conosciamo oggi è la città turistica dell'isola più recente e gli appartamenti privati si sono sviluppati attorno al porto, che si trova proprio in centro città e dal porto si diramano le spiagge, i ristoranti, i negozi. A nord del porto si trovano gli hotel e il grande campeggio con piazzole ombreggiate nella foresta lussureggiante che contraddistingue questa parte dell'isola Krk. Ci sono anche diversi appartamenti di buona qualità e case vacanza vista mare. Le spiagge di Njivice sono di ciottoli e in parte cementate, mentre fuori città ci sono scogli e rocce e piccole baie.
