This is so brilliant Ann - and you know it, but you have spoiled it somewhat by making the area around the tree so light. To the trained eye, it stands out as being overlightened and the eye keeps going there and not the over the image as a whole. I realise that time and perhaps editing powers might be limited right now. But it is a fantastic image and most will probably not notice or put too much emphasis on what I point out but if you decide to put it before a camera club judge, re-edit it more subtly. |

You're right in that I was perhaps too hasty to post this without being able to give full attention to processing the sky properly - I'll have another go when I get home. Having said that, the light area around the tree appeared when I selected one of the Silver Efex presets. I made some adjustments and thought about toning that area down but in the end didn't.....
