Una foto che da' un'idea delle dimensioni che ci sono sull'Etna. Quello che si vede sullo sfondo è il Nuovo Cratere di Sud-Est, un cono vulcanico che ha avuto uno sviluppo incredibilmente veloce, diventando in pochi anni un vero 'mostro'. Ebbene, basti pensare che in linea d'area si trova a un chilometro da quei turisti stranieri che lo osservano estasiati. Spesso sull'Etna non si percepiscono bene le distanze e le reali dimensioni dei coni. Quando osservate in TV le attività anche esplosive che ciclicamente l'Etna ci regala, quasi sempre l'attore principale è lui. Ora immaginate cosa tira fuori quando ci sono quelle violente esplosioni. A distanza sembrano piccoli lapilli, in realtà sono fontane che si innalzano anche per 200/300 metri e scagliano bombe vulcaniche di ogni dimensione, anche di un'utilitaria. Adesso è in una fase relativamente tranquilla, ma ritengo vi sia parecchia energia testimoniata dai degassamenti che vedete in foto e dallo zolfo (le zone gialle). Questo non prelude assolutamente ad una imminente attività, però ho la sensazione che il vulcano si stia ricaricando. Il titolo mi è venuto in mente perché osservando la foto, complice una luce particolare, mi sembra di vedere i turisti come in una mega sala cinematografica, con schermo IMAX appunto.
