La chiesa di S. Zenone fu edificata all'interno del castello di Lazise come cappella soggetta alla pieve di S. Martino. Nel 1528 l'antica pieve di S. Martino in Lazise, situata al di fuori del castello, fu devastata dalle truppe di Arrigo di Brunswick (al servizio dell'imperatore Carlo V) ed abbandonata. Due anni più tardi (1530) la sede plebana fu trasferita presso la più comoda e sicura chiesa di S. Zenone, che da allora porta la doppia intitolazione ai SS. Zenone e Martino. L'attuale chiesa parrocchiale è il risultato della ricostruzione in forme neoclassiche, avvenuta tra gli ultimi anni del XVIII sec. ed il 1840. La consacrazione risale al 2 settembre del 1888. Esternamente l'edificio si presenta con facciata in stile neoclassico rivolta ad ovest. Torre campanaria addossata al fianco meridionale del presbiterio. Impianto planimetrico ad unica aula rettangolare, con presbiterio a pianta quadrangolare rialzato di tre gradini, concluso con abside semicircolare; lungo i fianchi dell'aula sei semi-cappelle laterali accolgono gli altari dell'Addolorata, della Madonna della cintura e l'altare dei Santi, sul lato sinistro, gli altari di S. Antonio da Padova, del Crocifisso e l'altare di S. Giuseppe, sul lato opposto. I prospetti interni, intonacati e tinteggiati, sono ritmati da lesene e semicolonne corinzie d'ordine gigante, a sostegno di un'alta trabeazione sommitale; archeggiature a tutto sesto si aprono verso le cappelle laterali; nicchie con statue ed opere pittoriche completano la decorazione interna; al centro della parete absidale è posta la pala raffigurante il Santo patrono. L'aula è coperta da una volta a botte con teste di padiglione ed unghie laterali; il presbiterio è sovrastato da una volta a vela decorata con rilievi in stucco; nel catino absidale è dipinto il Cristo benedicente. Copertura a due falde con struttura lignea portante e manto in coppi di laterizio. La pavimentazione della navata è realizzata in quadrotte di pietra bianca e marmo rosso Verona; i quattro settori occupati dai banchi presentano una pavimentazione in lastre di marmo di Botticino; il presbiterio è pavimentato con quadrotte di marmo chiaro di Botticino e rosso Verona.
