Kerlingarfjöll è stata la sorpresa del viaggio in Islanda. Poco battuta rispetto ad altre mete, raggiungibile solo in fuoristrada, colpisce per la varietà dei colori e del paesaggio. E' ricca di acque calde e fredde (l'attività geotermica è molto elevata). Non prevista nel viaggio, ci siamo arrivati per caso, su consiglio della ragazza che gestisce il rifugio non distante in cui ci trovavamo a pernottare. C'è anche la possibilità di fare un bagno in una pozza d'acqua geotermica ma, non essendoci nessuna indicazione, non abbiamo trovato il posto (tornati al rifugio, ci ha poi spiegato come si poteva raggiungere, e mi sono morso le dita!). Però non andataci! Troppa gente contaminerebbe un posto ancora poco battuto e praticamente quasi incontaminato. :)
