at 300mm, 1/800 f/7.1, ISO 800, hand held. New Forest National Park, United Kingdom.

Preparing to make next year's foal, perhaps?? Semi wild New Forest ponies in the drizzle - a beautiful chestnut stallion and mare under a lovely tree on the heathland plains of the open New Forest. Difficult shooting conditions, from a distance and the tree and gorse bush on the right actually overlapped, so I had to create a gap - but still try and make it look natural! I also removed a small bush in the foreground that just took too much attention away from our romantic equine couple.... Difficult also to balance the atmospheric misty murk without ending up with a washed out and boring image. Due to the attractive colours of the ponies, this had to remain in colour. Only posted under 'pets' due to Juza's rules.
