Il Duomo di Bressanone, tedesco Brixner Dom, è la chiesa più grande di Bressanone e ha per l'Alto Adige un'importanza storico-culturale e religiosa. Il Duomo di Bressanone, che è consacrato a Santa Maria Assunta e a San Cassiano, viene chiamato anche cattedrale e basilicae minores. La costruzione è stata iniziata nel 980 d.C. circa. A seguito di un incendio nel 1174 il Duomo di Bressanone, in Valle d'Isarco, è stato ricostruito e ampliato con tre navate e due campanili. La ricostruzione risulta completamente in stile romanico. Con parecchie cappelle, come anche un altare maggiore ornato di finestre ogivali e una volta a rete la chiesa più importante dell'Alto Adige è stata completata in stile gotico. Nel 18° secolo il duomo è stato ricostruito. L'opera è stata perfezionata con affreschi e dipinti barocchi del famoso pittore Paul Troger di Monguelfo, un nuovo altare maggiore, un atrio neoclassico, una Madonna tardogotica e un ricco allestimento con marmo pregiato.
