Beautiful - and inspired to zoom in and resist the temptation to 'get it all in'... |

Thanks, Tim! If I remember rightly, getting it all in wasn't an option, so it was a matter of choosing how best to portray it. I wasn't expecting to hear from you tonight.... |

Lol! It was good of you to comment at the end of a long day, Tim, and a nice surprise! |

I added a comment to my own last night - damn, Bristol has some steep streets and handholding that big unstabilised 135-400mm for several hours plus I always end up walking miles around Bristol too, I was SO tired last night! After my bath, I felt that I weighed two tons! And aching this morning - a good workout all round. I'm still tagging the pictures! |

That does sound like a good bit of exercise, Tim! Recovery time today, then. It'll be good to get them all tagged - I'm not so good at doing that! |

An 'in camera' rainbow, Sergio? Now wouldn't that be useful! Thank you so much for your comment! Ann :)) |

I always do, then backed up onto a second external hard drive - I've a bit of an obsession about that. And with a load also from inside Bristol Cathedral, makes it all more manageable when you don't have to go looking or uploading from a huge file and have them in sub folders too. |

A good plan! I have them in date folders and do a general tag (like 'Bristol') but seldom do more. I've not fully got to grips with the Lightroom cataloguing system. I ought to put in more effort to understand it properly, as it would pay off in the long run. Having said that, I can usually find photos I am looking for. |

I don't use any of the editing software's cataloguing - the danger is, when you upgrade or change your system, then surely it's all lost? I use the basic Windows system which does (and should continue to do so) remain in use (in one form or another) so as long you can continue with such, any tagging should survive any future updates. I started on Vista and now on 10, and the tags and filing are equally accessible. The downside is that only jpegs can be tagged and so making sure the relevant accompanying RAWs are in the same place can take some time. Mine's part of a routine that I feel slightly uneasy about until done (like the washing up!) |

Haha! The rainbow really did seem remarkably close - this is not a cropped image! We have the same saying but sadly I found no pot of gold! Thank you so much for a lovely comment, Renzo! Ann :)) |
