Paris , Roret: 220 pp., 4pl (8vo) Vedi carta provvisoria dell'atlante italiano DESCRIZIONE Ha nervature principali delle ali rossastre nei maschi e giallastre nelle femmine, ali posteriori con una macchia basale gialla più estesa rispetto a S. sanguineum e pterostigma giallastro con uno spesso bordo nero. La porzione postero-inferiore degli occhi è grigio-celeste e le zampe sono nere con una linea longitudinale gialla. ECOLOGIA Può presentare due generazioni all'anno e pertanto compare dalla fine di marzo a novembre. Le larve si sviluppanoin acque stagnanti, sia dolci che salmastre, spesso poco profonde e povere di vegetazione quali stagni, anche di recente formazione, cave allagate e lagune costiere. La specie si rinviene fino a circa 1300 metri di altitudine. DISTRIBUZIONE La specie è segnalata di tutte le regioni italiane.
