Tuttavia, a guardare bene il gabbiano, la luce (dietro la testa e quella che filtra tra le piume delle ali spiegate) è troppo accesa e proveniente da un'angolazione non precisa per dare l'idea che la fonte (l'unico punto luminoso) sia la luna.
Il risultato è la figura dell'animale non pienamente 'naturale' e poco amalgamata con lo sfondo.
