Ending Day 1 of late live music, original material ska-funk outfit (7 band members, or is it 8?) and my best mates, Intercepteurs are definitely one of Salisbury's leading bands, both live and with a few studio albums too. In officially the worse lit venue in Europe (venue is actually small converted front room of a pub) and here I am kneeling on the floor, with hundreds of happy folk dancing away within cms behind me. I hope this energy comes across! The band have used a few of my photos of them for their CDs and publicity. All for free, of course, they are all hard working non-professional musicians hoping for the big time, too, after all! (I think the drummer is a professional session musician but performs with them for free as they are his musical 'family'. |

A short (2 mins) video I shot of them on the same night, with the D7100 and Tokina 16-50mm f2.8. First time I'd used the video function, so it defaulted to standard settings. The link won't work right now. I'll try to get the right one later. |

I should be spending my evenings doing more sedate things at my stage of life, Ezio! Hard work! But fun and keeps you fit and youthful. |

They all look totally absorbed and enjoying themselves! I love the blue light - and the thought of you having to scrabble about on the ground at their feet to get this shot! :)) I've just posted a fisheye cathedral shot - a bit noisy but it was a matter of compromise! |

You really enjoy putting me in my place, Ann! Are you sure that you're not a dominatrix?!! It's taken me two hours to just try and collate, tag and find out who the hell I actually did photograph last night - they all (well the good ones) all have to go up onto Facebook - including a 9 minute hand held video of the Hop Back Blues Band ending on a powerful and emotional Purple Rain. (the Prince song, so a tribute) That upload started at 7 am., it's currently only halfway through upload! More events today and tomorrow too, of course. Grainy fisheye's, eh? |

That's an awful lot of upload! I hope you've got a big memory card in that camera, if you are going to be shooting more video! I used almost the whole of a 128 GB card whilst on holiday and I never take videos...... |

I had no idea how long the song was going to be - most final end of evening songs are no more than the usual 3-4 mins, but it just went on and on, getting better and better and with more and more soulful guitar solos, so I could hardly stop! And I do download every day, twice yesterday (trains first) - and the D7100 has two card slots, though I still back up the first card onto the second. 64gb cards can hold over 1,1000 RAW + basic jpegs afterall, which is quite a lot. The 'movie' is actually 1.44 GB, so not a big chunk of available space. |
