Arredano la città, si fanno ammirare dai passanti, eppure sconosciuto ai più è il loro autore. Le sculture disseminate negli spazi verdi di Torino non hanno firma ma il loro tratto è inconfondibile. È quello di Rodolfo Marasciuolo, giardiniere del Servizio Verde del Comune, che dal 2006 crea per le aiuole torinesi opere realizzate esclusivamente con materiali da riciclo. Dagli scarti produce sculture composite che hanno per oggetto il sogno e l'utopia, la gioia di vivere e il rispetto per l'ambiente. Velocipedi, libri volanti, "torelli" e panchine di farfalle, animali e personaggi onirici prendono vita da recinti arrugginiti, vestiti dismessi, scarti di paletti dissuasori e vecchi oggetti casalinghi: abili dimostrazioni di come ogni materiale può avere mille usi e ogni opera mille interpretazioni. Ricorrente è il binomio delle biciclette bianche e delle farfalle, indice della riduzione dell'inquinamento, poiché solo quando la qualità dell'aria sarà migliore le farfalle faranno ritorno. Finora sono oltre 1.600 gli insetti messaggeri di sostenibilità che il giardiniere ha ritagliato a mano da flaconi di detersivi, un simbolico e caloroso invito a ripopolare Torino. E con altrettanta pazienza scolpisce libri in legno ? metafora del sapere condiviso ? che fuoriescono da voliere bianche o vengono custoditi fra le mani di fate in fil di ferro o di Pinocchi comodamente sdraiati sulle panchine.
