SkyWatcher Newton 200/1000 with Baader RCC, modified Canon Eos 450D, Skywatcher Eq6 Pro. 27 x 540" @ 800ISO. Saint Barthelemy, Lignan (Ao), Italy. A special thanks to Leonardo Orazi for his precious help during elaboration. NGC 7331, la galassia più grande visibile nel campo, è una galassia a spirale visibile nella costellazione di Pegaso, a 45 milioni di anni-luce da noi. Il Quintetto di Stephan, invece, è un gruppo di cinque galassie (a sinistra nel fotogramma) che ha fatto discutere a lungo gli studiosi. I cinque corpi, infatti, sembrerebbero interagenti, ma uno di questi, NGC 7320, presenta una distanza apparentemente diversa dalle altre. Ciò ha portato a mettere in discussione le intere teorie cosmologiche attuali, basate sulla misura del red-shift come indicatore della distanza di un oggetto. In ogni caso, i corpi si troverebbero a circa 300 anni-luce dalla Terra, una bella distanza!
