at 18mm, 1/80 f/8.0, ISO 250, hand held. London, United Kingdom.

Very expensive North London 'villages' such as Hampstead here are so very 'old' English! A far cry from the very opposite, the poor and 'economically challenged' Brick Lane that I photographed a couple of weeks ago. Hampstead is home to many UK TV presenters, actors and such. A beautiful place on an early Saturday morning. In colour due to the bright red post box and the lovely lush weeping willow. See the black and white version too.

I like this one even more, Tim - the red of the post box and the green of the leaves balance each other nicely!

They do indeed Ann, that's why the colour's up as well! It's quite a steep walk up to the Heath via this hill from the Underground (which is the deepest station on the entire network and IF you take the stairs - which is forbidden except in an emergency, there are about 320 of them!).

One would hope there's never an emergency then!

Like meeting Jonathan Ross (who lives in the area) in the lift, you mean? That could constitute an 'emergency' and necessitate the need to take the stairs!

Lol!

Dull day today, so I've not ventured out yet. I think it's time my camera and I went out to see what we can find....

You seek, you find, Ann. I'm sure that you'll be successful.

Beautiful, beautiful colors, especially the red letterbox. Also elegant green tree. But you've already told you!
You have large numbers (great tricks ..), and also understand from your beautiful accompanying descriptions of your images. :-P

Thank you so much Micio - glad you like it - I don't quite understand the second line of your text, though?

I don't expect everybody to follow everything I post up, but one of my reasons for taking them is to share them and my enthusiasm is as prolific as ever. However, this is the last of the London trips now for a long while, but of course, I have many to share with you from them.

You are a great man tricks, and this is understood even from the witty notes at the bottom of your images!
Compliments, cheers.

Thank you, again! I understand a bit better now, but translations can get in the way of understanding. Have a good Sunday, Micio.

'You are a great man tricks' is my misunderstanding for 'You are One That has much to recommend him' ..
