Pamphagus sardeus in piena fase di sviluppo post-embrionale. In età adulta, questo ortottero raggiunge dimensioni notevoli (anche dieci centimetri di lunghezza), assumendo una veste piuttosto sgargiante (verde acceso). E' di grande interesse scientifico perchè si tratta di una specie limitata alla sola Sardegna.
