non riesco ad attraversare un ponte, grande o piccolo, di campagna o di città, senza guardare giù. Qualcosa si trova sempre, e anche se sopra c'è traffico, le auto sotto non possono arrivare. Oggi, gatto. E selvatico, pure. Non gli interessava il rumore delle auto che passavano sopra di lui. Mi ha concesso lunghi minuti e un centinaio di scatti mentre curiosava sulla sponda in cerca di prede. Solo una volta si è fatto inquadrare di faccia, e c'era lo stelo. Pazienza!

Ci credo bene Fulvio. Anche dove è pieno di gatti selvatici, si avvistano sono raramente di giorno. Sono molto furtivi. Personalmente l'ho visto solo poche volte (una volta l'ho anche visto infuriato perchè un'auto di passaggio l'aveva spaventato) eppure capita: l'altro giorno un mio amico ne ha visto un'altro, prima volta in vita sua.
Poi, un altro amico che effettua fototrappolaggi notturni a scopo di ricerca mi ha fatto vedere quanti ce ne sono in realtà, perfino in aree periferiche, anche se la gente non sospetta nulla. Un po' come per il lupo: in quel caso quando non si sa che c'è tutto tace, poi appena se ne avvista uno è tutto un tempestare di allarmismi, articoli di giornali, richieste di allevatori (anche per pecore azzannate da cani), esperti a pagamento a caccia di sovvenzioni per studiarli, corrucciati politici che parlano di abbattimenti… Al lupo, al lupo! Meno male che il gatto è molto più furtivo…
Sempre dalle esperienze dell'amico dei fototrappolaggi, capisco che anche se si conosce la tana inutile tentare appostamenti diurni: escono di notte, e vicino la tana solo ancora più guardinghi.
